SIGMA runs on Microsoft Windows (Windows 7, Vista, and XP). Any computer capable of running these versions of Windows will run SIGMA. To take full advantage of SIGMA, the Windows' spreadsheet program, Excel, and a word processor are useful. Currently, SIGMA does not support Apple-based computers, other than through boot-camp or some other Windows-based emulator software.

If you would like to install SIGMA, you can download a copy by going to our downloads page.

SIGMA installs using a Windows installer. SIGMA will install both the SIGMA application, as well as a set of sample SIGMA models. These models are stored in your Documents directory, under the sub-directory 'SIGMA Models'. If you want to re-install the application from scratch (replacing these models), you will need to delete this SIGMA Models directory before you install the application.

Steps to Install

1. Double click on the Setup file to begin installation of SIGMA.

2. An End User License Agreement will appear. Click 'Agree' to accept the terms and conditions of the EULA or Cancel to abort the setup.

SIGMA will then install. Upon completion, SIGMA will load for the first time, to complete licensing.

3. Activate SIGMA, by entering your email address and a license key in the dialog box (see below). Clicking on the link 'Click to Purchase Serial Number' will take you to the downloads page where you can purchase a license. If you have downloaded an academic student license, your license key will be included in the email we sent you when you registered. Activation with a valid license key is required in order to use SIGMA.

NOTE: If you have previously installed SIGMA and your license has expired, you will see a dialog box like the one below. Click OK to continue and enter your current serial number.

4. SIGMA is located in the Start menu All Programs, under the 'Bioproduction Group' folder.

Use the Control Panel to uninstall SIGMA. Optionally, you can also remove the SIGMA models you created. These models are stored in your Documents directory, under the sub-directory 'SIGMA Models'.
